Sea Level
This documentary brings the vision of renowned psychotherapist and visionary James Hillman to bear on the city. He says: “American culture is in decline, and, frankly, our heads are barely above water. There are urgent lessons to be learned from New Orleanians—gifts to be received from both their old, slow ways of living and loving, and the new knowledge that has come from prolonged chaos and crisis here, from their remaining shortcomings, vices, and violence, and their visionary attempts at renewal and recovery.” Filming is slated to begin Oct. 1.

Katrina’s Children
This feature-length documentary about 19 children from different New Orleans neighborhoods – told entirely from their point of view — explores the impact of Hurricane Katrina on their lives. Viewers enter their worlds through their stories, their play and their art, which is animated in several drawings. Aching with sadness but grounded in hope, Katrina’s Children is a celebration of resilience and a tribute to New Orleans’ unique and indomitable spirits.
